The Role: Digital Content Writer
We are seeking a digital content writer to join S&P Global Ratings in our Sydney or Melbourne office. The role will involve ghostwriting or narrative editing of thought-leadership commentaries, taking an article from ideation and through to all stages of publishing. You will also edit rating actions and comments on credit events, ensuring clarity, precision and brevity. The position will further involve crafting compelling headlines, media releases, and social media posts that highlight our insights and maximize their reach.

S&P Global Ratings Editorial team consists of about 100 staff in offices around the world and is part of our Ratings Operations division. You will work closely with editors and analysts throughout Asia-Pacific and globally to produce credit analysis of financial institutions, corporations, and governments. We operate in an exciting, diverse, and dynamic environment, with a company that is committed to putting its people first. We support a work-life balance, and offer the ability to work remotely when needed.
Work with analysts to refine article ideas, draft outlines, and manage pipeline.
Apply the principles of writing for the digital age through ensuring structural coherence of articles, clarity of thought, and brevity.
Highlight insights through crafting effective key messages, topic sentences, headlines, media releases, and social media posts.
Explain concepts and terminology in plain English, ensuring grammatical accuracy.
Pay strong attention to detail and processes to ensure error-free articles under tight deadlines that comply with regulatory standards.
Perform production tasks, ensuring all articles conform to global publishing standards in terms of format, style, and branding specifications.
Conceptualize graphics for data visualization and infographics.
Bachelor's degree holder in digital journalism, communications, or a related discipline.
Proven writing ability, with minimum of 3-5 years' experience in financial research or business media.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Sound knowledge of terminology and concepts used in financial markets; familiarity with credit research an advantage.
Good interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
An advantage would be an interest in developing data visualization skills using Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Illustrator, or specialized infographic software.
