Design Process Coordinator

The Role

We are currently seeking a Design Process Coordinator to join our team based in our Osborne Park (Perth) office. This position requires a highly organised and motivated individual to work within a small and specialised team to co-ordinate administrative elements of the design process within the organization. Liaising daily with our internationally based designers and international factories, the successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of garment construction and patternmaking, a good eye for detail and display a proactive approach to effective timeline management.

What We Expect

  • Process and proactively monitor the development of new styles within the collections from toile stage through to the finished sample stage.
  • Working with other sampling and design co-ordinators, designers (located overseas) and the design and sampling mangers closely, to provide technical and administrative support
  • Assisting the design process by reviewing designer submissions, and competently creating technical documents when required, to ensure designs are correctly realised
  • Co-ordination and contribution to administrative tasks required within the Design Department
  • Liaising daily with offshore factories, including our offshore sampling rooms, which involves Skype and email correspondence across time zones
  • Analysis of the design schedule and effective forecasting and planning to ensure timeline objectives are achieved
  • Implementing procedures to ensure the process from initial design documentation through the completion of sample production is of a high quality and on schedule
  • Coordinating the usage of fabrics, laces and trims during the initial design process
  • Providing daily administrative support for the Design and Sampling Administration Manger

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree or Diploma in Fashion Industry Studies; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to self-manage working effectively to a deadline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Be a team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask
  • Be procedure and process orientated with a positive attitude
  • Strong customer service orientation & demeanor
  • Adaptable to stressful situations and changing work loads
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision with a high attention to detail
  • Have the flexibility to occasionally assist with tasks outside of standard work hours
