The Role

A fantastic opportunity has become available, for an enthusiastic and proactive Injury Management Coordinator, to join the Injury Management team at dnata catering based out of our dC catering unit in Perth on a Part Time basis (3 days per week.)

Reporting to the National Injury Manager you will be responsible for the coordination of processes associated with the rehabilitation and timely return to work of injured and/or ill employees at the local business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt rehabilitation and return to work support for all work related and non-work related injuries;
  • The first point of contact for injured employees and Supervisors immediately following injury;
  • Triaging injuries in conjunction with the injured employee and Supervisor to ensure appropriate medical treatment is coordinated and available;
  • Attending initial doctors consultations with injured workers at local clinic;
  • Coordinating communication with any additional rehabilitation providers, the insurer and business unit;
  • Consult with line management regarding suitable duties to match rehabilitation program, including hours, work methods, access issues, equipment design and programming for resumption of normal duty.
  • The development and maintenance of return to work plans appropriate to an injured employees capacity and available duties;
  • Develop understanding among line managers of legislative obligations and the benefits of rehabilitating injured/ill employees;
  • Coordinate the completion of all necessary paperwork to assist in prompt claim lodgement and early intervention;
  • Maintain records in accordance with legislative requirements within the Injury Management system;
  • Actively promotes behaviours that support dnatas values in relation to safety and rehabilitation;
  • Assist and coach Supervisors and Business Unit Managers build a positive rehabilitation and return to work environment that facilitates positive return to work outcomes;
  • Provide RTW and Rehabilitation support to the National Injury Manager;
  • Prepare monthly reports for key stakeholders on current injuries and illnesses.
  • Identifying areas for opportunity and education within the business unit that would reduce the risk of injury and potential claims.

Selection Criteria:

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:

A minimum of 2 year’s experience in a similar role within medium to large organisation, or a working history with appropriate transferrable skills.

  • Demonstrated capability working within a return to work position within a similar sized company or industry.
  • Understanding of state applicable Workers compensation schemes (case management experience will be highly regarded)
  • Sound understanding of return to work and rehabilitation processes.
  • Knowledge and application of workplace rehabilitation policies and procedures including early intervention and safe return to work.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to build effective and influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Current full driver license.
