Job Description Summary:

A succesfull candidate will be highly analytical and capable of interpreting trends. This role requires collaboration with different stakeholders to gather inputs, summarize insights and produce executive level presentations. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to present and work with the wider FP&A team. The candidate will own the planning, while aiming to do so in a scalable and efficient way.
The candidate will report into the Core FP&A Senior Manager and will be part of the FP&A team based in Luxembourg.

Job Description:

Core responsibilities:

  • Support the Core Markets’ monthly forecast process and annual budget process by providing continued enhancement to budgeting and forecasting tools to improve forecast accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop a deep understanding of PayPal’s business across different PayPal’s segments & regions while managing monthly forecast processes, strategic planning process and drafting Executive presentations.
  • Review and commnunicate performance against defined targets. Regularly perform variance and sensitivity analyses on (daily/weekly/monthly) revenue performance.
  • Perform deep dives and leverage financial analytics to deliver insights on business performance & revenue drivers for the Core Markets.
  • Drive Core Markets FP&A analytics tools, process & automation strategies, partnering with global FP&A/Analytics and technology teams.
  • Support ad-hoc analyses & projects at Core Markets & PayPal Inc. level.

Education required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Finance, Economics or related quantitative discipline.

  • Masters Degree (MBA, MEng, or MSc) or equivalent.

Experience required:

  • Experience gained as a Finance Manager, Senior FP&A Manager, ideally in a fast growing, medium/large company environment within the eCommerce or financial services sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in forecasting and budget processes in matrixed environments.
  • Experience in building and challenging financial models.

Skills & Abilities required:

  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills: able to work across organizations & geographies and influence peers and more senior colleagues.

  • Communication skills: experience distilling complex financial analyses and preparing powerful presentations with a crisp and clear storyline.
  • Detail-oriented, highly analytical individual who strives for excellence and wants to be part of a great team.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently.
  • High energy and a true desire to understand the drivers of the business.
  • Comfortable with financial modeling and working with large amounts of data/databases
  • Comfortable to work in a cross-functional, multicultural, fast-paced environment while juggling multiple responsibilities.

Knowledge required:

  • Strong Excel and Power Point skills. Experience with database products (i.e. Essbase, SQL).
  • Financial modelling, forecasting and statistical techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL/Python/VBA would be an advantage.
