WHO we’re looking for: We are looking for a Core Systems Test Engineer who will be responsible for performing system integration and interoperability tests, supporting customer acceptance tests, and providing field deployment support for NFV-based 5G SA/NSA core systems. The Core team is particularly interested in candidates with extensive expertise in Mobile Networks Subscriber and Policy Operations, including experience with subscriber database migration. Role and Responsibilities:
System-level feature integration and verification.
Inter-operability tests with external elements.
Developing and performing test plans.
Troubleshooting and analyzing problems in customer’s lab and production systems.
New system deployment and commissioning new system.
Migration of network systems.
Required Experience and Education:
BS/BE in Computer Science or Computer Engineering w/5 years of telecommunication industry experience or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering w/3 years of telecommunication experience.
Hands-on experience in technical support, troubleshooting, and operational support of 3G/4G mobile subscriber and policy management systems (HLR/HSS).
Hands-on experience in configuration, troubleshooting and analysis of end-to-end flow and processes between user SIM, subscriber management UI/portal, and HLR/HSS.
Proficiency in LTE and 5GC call flow diagnostics.
Expertise in using Wireshark or other IP protocol analyzers.
In-depth understanding of EPC and SA/NSA 5GC architecture.
Experience in debugging LTE and 5G SA/NSA call flows.
Hands-on experience in operational management of mobile network subscriber and policy management systems.
Familiarity with the service-based architecture and 5G SA cloud-native core network functions.
Proficiency in LTE and 5GC call flow diagnostics.
Knowledge of LTE core interfaces such as S1, S6a, S11, DNS, Gx, Gy, S2a, S5/S8, S6b, SGi, S1-U, NAS, GTP-U, GTP, DIAMETER, RADIUS, etc.
Understanding of SIP, IMS, and IP telephony standards.
Experience with VoLTE and Deep Packet Inspection.
Strong knowledge of IP protocols, including IPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, ECMP, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, IPSec, NAT, IP forwarding.
Familiarity with Tomcat and web GUI is beneficial.
Exposure to programming in Python, Java, Perl, and Unix/Linux shell scripting is advantageous.
Expertise in using Wireshark or other IP protocol analyzers.
Experience in Cisco router configuration is a plus.
Understanding of technologies like OpenStack, OpenShift, DevOps, NFV, CNF, and Kubernetes is beneficial.
