This position is to support the Ascensia Diabetes Care unit, a business unit part of the PHC Group of Companies. The position is based in Dubai and also carries responsibility for the overall sales management of Ascensia business in United Arab Emirates (UAE), managing the implementation of all financial and commercial activities required to successfully operate in the country in full compliance with the local laws and regulations. In addition, the incumbent will also have responsibility to manage the business in Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen & Afghanistan with the business partners.
MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
Manage the overall performance of assigned countries by leading the local team to develop and implement country strategies and tactics, which drive growth of the business and deliver on the Ascensia annual sales and profitability/cost objectives for the countries.
Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans and budgets for sales and marketing that will meet customer needs, increase market share, while optimizing in-country investments and costs.
Direct the implementation of planned in-country activities across all customer channels and country teams, monitor success and initiate changes or implement new activities as needed to deliver or exceed on performance expectations.
Manage the local country teams and ensure smooth business operations at the country level and coordinate any activities with local and Ascensia regional teams to secure optimal functionality of commercial operations.
Identify and develop new or existing business opportunities, market segments and potential customers to expand Ascensia operations across all business areas; act as local expert to support development and implementation of Ascensia global and regional initiatives at a country level.
Maintain high quality tactical / strategic co-operation with internal and external customers and partners to drive business success and build value for Ascensia.
Build and cultivate high performance culture by leading and overseeing the performance of the local team, fostering excellence, supporting talent development and living the Ascensia values.
10 years of experience in Sales and/or Marketing
5 years of work experience in a relevant industry sector (Medical Devices, Pharma, Healthcare, Diagnostics), ideally in Diabetes Care
Experience in working with and leading sales and/or marketing country teams, with strong people management capabilities
Expertise in managing a country organization, preferable with knowledge in general management responsibilities
Experience of working with distributors and distributor teams
Commercial expertise and proven experience in delivering results through implementation and strong execution at a country level
Strategic skills, financial acumen and solid business judgment capabilities
Strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and teamwork skills
Experience in working in an international organization, interacting with people across different business groups and regions
Language skills: Fluent in Arabic language and English
