Creative Manager, Toronto Radio

Rogers Radio Toronto is on the hunt for an individual with a love of powerful advertising, and an inexhaustible desire to create it.

YOU WILL DO ALL THIS AND MORE:

  • Manage and support a team of five writers and one continuity co-ordinator, keeping them energized and motivated, and trying to balance their workloads between virtual paperwork and structured creativity
  • Write radio commercials & develop ad campaigns that deliver on client marketing goals
  • While managing your own client list, help everyone on your team to write more compelling, effective ads
  • Set the standard for internal & external customer service
  • Work closely/collaboratively with the production and traffic departments to ensure seamless workflow
  • Liaise frequently with National Sales, Direct Sales and other internal Rogers clients, making sure they’re all happy campers
  • Walk the tightrope between Sales and Programmers, applying your legal & regulatory expertise (and common sense) to ensure that all ad content (provided & written internally) is appropriate for the airwaves
  • Seek out, and explore, new revenue opportunities with your sales and programming partners
  • Meet frequently with your Regional Creative Director to provide department updates, collaborate on work, & discuss team engagement and coaching opportunities

ESSENTIAL:

  • Atleast 5 years holding a senior role in a major-market Canadian radio station as writer or Creative manager
  • Management experience is an asset
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Great copywriting skills and production savvy, as demonstrated by your radio reel
  • Strong knowledge of Wide Orbit (or a similar traffic system)
  • Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and passion to succeed
  • Must be highly detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision

GOOD TO HAVE:

  • Persuasive presentation skills
  • A winning sense of humour (it’s a crazy-busy place to work, so you’ll need it)
  • The ability to take the job seriously but NOT take yourself seriously
  • Thorough regulatory & ASC knowledge
