About the Role

As an Employment Broker your focus will be on engaging customers into our service. For many of our customers they are new to employment services, so you will utilise your knowledge and critical thinking skills to support them to overcome barriers, in order to gain meaningful employment.

Using our case management framework, you will build upon our customers’ capacity to work by assisting them in building skills and experience. These roles will also include undertaking ‘marketing’ of customers to suitable employers and running group-based job search sessions to motivate and promote further job opportunities for them. There will also be a strong focus on generating suitable vacancies and job referrals to place our customers in.

You’ll also experience the work/life balance that comes with working a 9 day fortnight, with a dedicated and fixed day off every second week. You will still receive the remuneration of a full time employee in addition to the ability to salary sacrifice. About You

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate:

  • A passion and drive for helping people find employment;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build positive relationships among a diverse range of customers and employers;
  • Your strong mentoring and motivational skills to develop positive relationships with all stakeholders including your teams;
  • Your ability to receive and deliver constructive feedback;
  • A high attention to detail with strong time management skills to be able to manage a balanced administrative workload;
  • Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite; and
  • Your ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

You will also be required to:

  • Hold a current driver’s licence; 
  • Have a Certificate IV qualification, or be willing to gain a qualification with our support;
  • Show an understanding of the local labour market and the needs and expectations of employers; and
  • Have intermediate to high level administrative skills including ability to type at a minimum of 30 wpm.

Previous experience in sales, recruitment or customer service type roles or similar will also be highly regarded, but not essential.

Remuneration

A competitive salary will be negotiated commensurate with skills and experience. As Workskil Australia is a public benevolent institution, we can also offer a portion of the salary through tax effective salary packaging.
