The Sales Data Analyst will work as part of the team dedicated to delivering reliable, accurate and up-to-date data to support Cloudera’s Global Field Organization. The Sales Data Analysts’s primary responsibility will be to analyze existing sales data and establish data quality standards, processes and pipelines. The Sales Data Analyst will also work with the Sales Data Architecture Manager and cross-functionally with leaders, subject matter experts, and data engineers to plan, design and implement robust and scalable analytical models to identify potential new customers, opportunities for expansion, and customer churn.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyse and understand the data needs to support Cloudera’s Global Field Organization
Closely work with the Sales Data Architecture Manager to design data schemas to model business entities and events and map out data flow
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders from various departments (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Ops, etc.) to align with upstream and downstream data management policies, processes, and system requirements
Work with data producers, owners, consumers, operators and perform data quality validations and design automated data pipelines to promote data standardization, validation, and enrichment
Support the design, development, and execution of data governance, cataloguing and data security strategy
Build data flows by optimizing the data query performance via best practices and perform proof-of-concepts independently and collaboratively
Establish data quality standards documentation and baseline metrics
Build dashboards, reports, KPIs for data quality, monitoring, engagement, and accessibility metrices
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. or B.A. degree in Data Management/Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (M.A. or M.S. preferred)
Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience
Strong exposure with data warehouse design, development, and implementation
Proficiency with SQL programming
Experience developing with 1+ additional programming languages (e.g. Python, Java)
Experience with ETL, data processing, and business intelligence
Familiar with cloud, enterprise data platform, data lake and big data ecosystem concepts, terminology, and frameworks
Understanding of data quality measurements, address data issues (correctness, completeness, accuracy)
Experience with G-Suite or MS Office (word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations)
Firm understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics
Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines
Strong verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a professional manner
Strong customer service orientation
Preferred or Desired Qualifications
Advanced certification/qualification in Business Intelligence/Data Analytics
Customer Relationship Management (e.g., Salesforce) and Master Data Management knowledge
Relational and non-relational data modelling exposure in cloud environments
Hands-on experience with Hadoop technologies such as Impala, Hive, Kafka, MapReduce, Spark
Experience with data modeling or diagramming tools to develop data flow & structure diagrams
Experience with Jira or other support ticket management systems
Experience with modeling, analyzing and developing reporting capabilities for key metrics to support a software-as-a-service (SaaS) business is highly desirable
Familiarity with Agile project management and development lifecycle processes
