Data Analyst - Freelance

The Economist Intelligence Unit is a leading provider of country, industry and management analysis. As the research arm of The Economist Group, we deliver information that helps organisations to stay on top of market opportunities and risks around the world.

We are looking for a freelancing candidate who has experience in secondary research and management of large datasets. This role will help deliver the Economist’s WhichMBA? ranking which requires the ability to manage and analyse data collected across over 300 business schools. You must possess excellent research and data management skills.

You will work within a wider team helping to maintain and manage the WhichMBA? Ranking survey, contribute to the development of the survey process and analytics, and help in the expansion of the survey by undertaking research and data management.

How you will contribute:

• Provide data management, data cleaning, and quality check support to WhichMBA? biannual survey process.
• Help manage large datasets and databases to protect and enhance the quality of the WhichMBA? ranking.
• Assist in project research, data collection, and analysis.
• Run quality assurance through regular, rigorous and efficient data checks.
• Assist in updating the survey questionnaire, methodology, and the analytics required for the WhichMBA? ranking survey.

The ideal skills for this role include:

• Relevant Bachelor's/Master’s degree
• Proven experience in managing large data sets, data cleaning, and data analysis.
• 1-2 years experience in data analysis would be preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (advance use of excel).
• Proven track record of delivering projects of the highest quality and prioritising time and resources accordingly.
• Ability to work effectively in teams to meet project objectives.
• Commitment to producing output of high quality/ accountability / sense of ownership / results-driven mindset
• Excellent communication skills
