An opportunity is now available for a Data Analyst, based from our Melbourne office for our Data Foundation project. The goal of the Data Foundation project is to consolidate data from many different sources and provide an enterprise wide data warehouse for analytics and data integration purposes.

The role of the Data Analyst is to do source data profiling, engage with application SMEs to ascertain business rules and data transformation logic and help with system and user acceptance testing. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Analyze, identify opportunities within in the business for Data warehouse development and enhancements 
  • Work with Stake holders within in the project controls Sales, Construction and Engineering to identify data sets that can be automated
  • Work with SME’s to identify business rules within data to populate data warehouse, data mart tables and prepare business requirement and technical design documents
  • Work alongside with Data Modeler for designing data models to satisfy project controls Sales, Construction and Engineering business requirements
  • Create source to target mapping documents including data fields and transformation logic
  • Analyze data sets to identify and interpret trends or patterns that can be used for business purposes 
  • Design, develop and implement new applications using Snowflake SQL, Teradata, Oracle SQL developer and ETL implementation using IICS
  • Ensure data accuracy by profiling source system data using Snowflake SQL, MS Access and Microsoft SQL Management Studio

About You: 

  • To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
  • Demonstrated Data Analysis experience
  • Strong investigation and analysis skills
  • Ability read and understand logical and physical data models
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Knowledge of data warehouse fundamentals and experience supporting data warehouses
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, OAC or other analytics tool
  • Broad understanding of ECR industry and related Data Management requirements
  • A degree qualification in information technology, engineering, finance or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of data governance
