This role will work as a part of a multidisciplinary Agile team to build high quality data pipelines driving analytic solutions. These solutions will generate insights from our connected data, enabling the company to advance the data-driven decision-making capabilities. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering, data analysis, reporting, and a basic understanding of data science techniques and workflows. The ideal candidate is a skilled data / software engineer with experience creating data architecture and data products supporting analytic solutions. They are agile learners, possess strong problem-solving skills, be a part of a technical, multi-functional analytics team, and want to solve complex data problems and deliver the insights to enable analytics strategy.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles & business goals
  • Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that helps our business to achieve their goals
  • Works with translators to identify business problems that can be addressed by analytics
  • Participates in diagnostic & use case roadmap creation
  • Works with Data Scientist to select and test suitable models
  • Deploys model and data pipelines using DevOps practices
  • Supervises progress and impact from implemented use cases
  • Supports translator to identify a comprehensive set of actions needed for implementation
  • Foster a culture of sharing, re-use, design for scale stability, and operational efficiency of data & analytics
  • Lead the evaluation, implementation and deployment of emerging tools and process for analytic data engineering in order to improve our efficiency as a team
  • Develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytic data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes
  • Participates in multifunctional teams and makes insightful contributions as data engineer
  • Leads data driven culture and decision making

Required Education & Skills :

  • Academics: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering preferred
  • Prior Experience:
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in data engineering role
  • Experience with developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space
  • Experience in building robust data pipelines and deploying/maintaining them by applying DevOps principles
  • Experience with developing solutions on cloud computing services and infrastructure in the data and analytics space (preferred)
  • Experience with containerization and managing pipelines and microservices, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow
  • Expertise in programming Languages - Python and/or R
  • Must have experience of working on GCP /e-com platforms particularly working with unstructured data
  • Must have experience in running use cases in the sales analytics/ eCommerce domain

  • Technology Expertise
  • SQL Implementation on GCP and / or e-com platforms
  • Database development experience using Hadoop or BigQuery and experience with a variety of relational, NoSQL, and cloud database technologies
  • Basic proficiency on ML techniques - clustering, decision tree learning, naive Bayes, support vector machines, Q-learning, temporal difference, adversarial networks, and neural networks
  • Basic proficiency of data visualization techniques & tools - Visualizing complex insights using Plotly, matplotlib, ggplot2, etc; experience with dashboarding tools desired (e.g., Shiny, Dash, Tableau)
