Aginic is a rapidly growing data solutions, design and agile delivery company. In the past 4 years, we’ve grown into a team of 60+ people across four cities and are responsible for innovative BI solutions across government and commercial clients across Australia. Our Melbourne office provides the hub for delivery to clients in the health sector nationally as well as supporting projects in other sectors within Victoria and South Australia. You will lead our Data Engineering capability in our growing Melbourne office. You will have a passion for bringing the skills and disciplines of software engineering to the world of data; and using a broad range of technologies to help solve real business and societal challenges. The right person will:

  • Take on the role of primary technical point of contact across our teams in Melbourne.
  • Be an active participant of one of our delivery squads; working collaboratively with other squad members, who have skills and capabilities ranging from deep technical and analytical skills through to strong adaptive delivery skills, to deliver awesome outcomes for our clients
  • Have broad experience in some of the following:
    • Developing, deploying and maintaining batch and streaming data pipelines
    • Using many technologies in a production environment, including Python, Java and Scala; SQL, Hadoop and Spark; and modern web/mobile app frameworks
    • Developing, deploying and maintaining analytics workloads on some or all of the leading public cloud providers, including Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP
    • Using analytics tools such as Qlik, Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau and Elastic
    • Working as part of an Agile development team.
  • Promote and lead internal initiatives around best practice approaches to data analytics so we can continually improve our efficiency, quality and relevance.

In terms of technology, you have deep experience in cloud systems, and both Windows and Linux environments. You are comfortable learning how to deploy and manage specialist systems relating to data engineering and analytics (e.g. Elastic, Tensorflow, Qlik) - and you recognise that in our industry, these will evolve constantly. Ideally, you also have experience with DevOps practices and technologies, and can use these to drive automation and efficiency.
