How you will make an impact?
The Data Governance and Integrity Lead’s primary responsibility is to ensure supply chain data governance and data quality improvements through the connection of business process, resources and technology platforms. They will drive and develop a team, who’s impact should be customer focused, with the intent to delight our customer through a continuously improving customer experience. As team lead, this position sets the supply chain data governance framework, data policies, and standards for the team to successfully manage static master data and transactional data, across corporate systems, including ERP, planning and CRM tools.
The Data Governance and Integrity Lead serves as owner for supply chain data quality across Thermo Fisher through process improvement, governance, and compliance activities. The role will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to proactively mitigate data related business process issues. Outcomes will be delivered through the management and leadership of the Product Administration Team which supports both data objectives and the Portfolio Management group (Portfolio Leader, Product Manager, Associate Product Manager) in the delivery of effective, timely and accurate product data and support to customers/market as well as the field sales teams, thereby enabling the commercial teams to maximise face-to-face customer time and the organisation to continuously improve the Customer Experience.
What will you do?

  • Pro-actively identify and implement business improvement opportunities through the investigation of current data sources.
  • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities
  • Roll out an enterprise-wide supply chain data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and compliance through modifications to organization policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture
  • Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship of the company’s principal information assets
  • Define indicators of performance and quality metrics and ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
  • Ensures that Data Governance deliverables (such as policies, procedures, and the communications plan) are documented and available to the enterprise.
  • Provide performance reports and periodic updates of the data governance roadmap to the Data Governance Leadership Team
  • Coordinate external data sources to streamline effectiveness and integration with trading partners
  • Develop & maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps
  • Build through training and education, an appropriate level of enterprise-wide understanding on the importance and principles of data governance.
  • Maintain the product database including new item set-ups, description maintenance and ongoing database audits, to ensure a professional presentation is maintained and that internal staff and customers can easily and accurately locate product information.
  • Support Product Managers in their communication with both internal and external customers, relating to technical and product queries, so that appropriate and accurate information may be communicated as efficiently and effectively as possible
  • Provide support for relevant agencies so that internal staff, service & sales teams, product management and customer needs are responded to, actioned and met in a timely manner
  • Ensure that any supplier price changes of products are updated on Masterpack to ensure that sell prices and landed costs are up to date
  • Ensure that the CRM (salesforce.com) is used and administered to drive timely and accurate responses from the Product Management team
  • Portfolio administration to assist the Product Managers and Associate Product Managers in the preparation of quotations, the compilation of responses to large bid/tenders and the preparation of supplier reports
  • Maintain price administration from Global Strategic Pricing input in line with formula based pricing

How will you get here?
Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or a related field is required
Experience
  • 5+ years of data management and governance experience involving a broad commercial base with a large product offering. Experience in a highly complex distribution or retail model preferred
  • Deep experience in data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Knowledge of risk management in data architecture and technology solutions
  • Project implementation experience of business intelligence solutions and ERP systems will be highly regarded
  • Proven track record in effectively supporting portfolio enablement
  • Involvement in and exposure to supply chain business processes
  • Experience managing, coaching and mentoring people to achieve a high performance team
  • High level of expertise in data management in ERP and BI solutions
  • High level and broad expertise in enterprise-wide business processes
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to interrogate large diverse data sets and draw valid summary conclusions for presentation to commercial stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen, and ability to engage broadly across functions and at multiple levels
  • Ability to break down complex problems and projects into manageable goals
