Job Title :  Marketing Data Scientist

Location: Colt House, London

The Role and Accountabilities

  • Reporting to the Senior Manager Marketing Ops & Global Lead Generation, this role will hold strategic responsibility for creating, streamlining and maintaining Marketing BI platform as well as leading the proper maintenance of the market segmentation data.
  • Using your marketing business and analytics acumen, strategic thinking, and data management expertise, you will work with a team composed of Data Analysts, Sales, Marketing, IT and Finance stakeholders to ensure proper usage and maintenance of our market segmentation data. 
  • As Data Scientist, you will have overall responsibility for managing the Marketing Data Management Programme and deliver valuable support to Colt Business by leveraging Colt’s internal data bases, Customers/Prospects insights, while implementing a world class B2B campaign machine utilizing lead generation & nurturing, digital marketing approaches linked to field marketing.
  • Driving effective Data Analytics Platform and Business orientation will be in your DNA and you will lead by example. 
  • Leading Market Segmentation Data maintenance activity relying on internal and external sources
  • Ensuring proper execution of data strategy. Conducting the Marketing Business Intelligence end-to-end implementation
  • Supporting business decisions with ad hoc analysis as needed
  • Building dashboard and scorecards leveraging visualization tools such as Qlik Sense & Business Object. Monitoring KPIs and Data quality
  • Helping to expand Colt current analytic capabilities and architect new strategies and applications within a dynamic innovative organization
  • Shaping the future of what a data-driven organization should look like, driving processes for extracting and using that data in creative ways, and creating new lines of thinking within an infinite number of situations, with an eye on optimizing every aspect of Colt marketing practices
  • Creating valuable, transformative business strategies through the measurement, manipulation, reporting and dissemination of broad sets of data 
  • Applying and advising teams on the state-of-the-art advanced analytic and quantitative tools and modelling techniques in order to derive business insights, solve complex business problems and improve decisions
  • Leading and supporting the development of knowledge for our Marketing Data Analytics team by creating a roadmap for a greater understanding of analytics and its impact in the Marketing team or by partnering with BI stakeholders internally or externally to ensure timely and effective methods of the extraction, assembly and transfer of broad, complex sets of data
  • Able to communicate & present technical/marketing content in an easy to understand way

  • Proven years of hands-on experience developing and applying predictive models and other advanced statistical approaches in a corporate or consulting setting, in a marketing and sales context
  • Ability to read data model created in Enterprise Architecture (EA) and have a deep understanding of key IT/Telco B-to-B data sets i.e. bookings, orders, invoices, product catalogue, customers, buildings, network inventory, telephony inventory, 3rd Party OLO and Co-location charges
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis and data mining packages 
  • Advanced knowledge of data management tools including SQL/RDBMS, NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB), Hadoop and/or other big data technologies. Eager to develop and implement SQL Script
  • Gather and process raw data at scale (including writing scripts, calling APIs, write SQL queries). Ability to use WINSQL 
  • Ability to embed SQL commands into Excel analytics models for prototyping new ideas 
  • Advanced programming skills in at least one of Java, Python, R, C++, C#, etc.
  • Experience linking multiple data platforms (social media, open, etc.) and with data visualization tools (e.g., QlikSense) to build dashboards
  • Experience with digital analytics (Next Product to buy, cross channel attribution modelling, digital analytic tools, etc.)
  • Understand how data flows within various systems to ensure data is organized properly for reporting and analytics
  • Familiarity with data mining and predictive analytics
  • Expertise using CRM like SAP C4C and marketing automation tool such as Hubspot
