We are a world-class, international team of engineers working on Vuforia, a market-leading mobile Augmented Reality (AR) platform powering PTC’s AR product portfolio.
You will join a talented team focused on using deep learning to solve difficult computer vision problems and enable AR experiences on all types of objects and surfaces.
The team is based in Mannheim, Germany, a city with a vibrant social and cultural life while being close to one of Germany's most scenic wine region.
Your Impact As a member of the Vuforia deep learning team, you will propose, explore and implement new and innovative features for the Vuforia platform, which has been adopted by a global ecosystem of more than 1Mio developers and partners, who have developed about 100,000 applications for consumer and business use on a range of handheld and head worn devices. In addition, you will have a direct influence on the adoption of deep learning and AI technologies within Vuforia and PTC.
You will work within an interdisciplinary team together with Deep Learning Engineers to design algorithms and networks to add new computer vision capabilities to the Vuforia platform
You will run experiments and create test datasets to validate the effectiveness of these new algorithms and networks to ensure that the solutions are accurate and efficient.
You’ll stay up to date on the latest research, by reading papers and attending CV or machine learning conferences, and follow the developments of AI technologies in general.
You’ll interact daily with deep learning frameworks using Python and C++ as well as reviewing code and results from your fellow team members.
Your Skills and Knowledge:
MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Information Science or Electrical Engineering
In-depth understanding of deep learning, machine learning and AI technologies
Hands-on experience with at least one deep learning framework, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch etc.
