As the Digital Design Manager for Smartcard & Secure IoT products, you will be part of NXP’s “Connectivity & Security” business, which delivers cutting-edge security technology for contactless banking cards, ID cards, passports, Secure IoT devices, and many other applications. A commitment to on-time delivery and strong focus on design quality and robustness is the foundation of all we do. The team is involved in all aspects of the design process, from product specification through design implementation and pre-silicon verification, to post-silicon validation and customer support.
Objectives & Deliverables:
You will be responsible for Digital IP Design and SoC Integration of Secure Microcontroller products, leading a team of digital design engineers for the development of secure IP subsystems and SoC’s.
Planning, design and delivery of digital IP subsystems and SOCs for highly secure applications:
Defining the architecture of highly secure and competitive SoCs, in close cooperation with product management, system architects and security experts
Implementing digital IP modules, sub-systems, and SoCs in leading-edge technology nodes, following a strict “zero-defect” strategy
Close cooperation with FW, SW and toolchain teams, to enable a seamless integration of our SoC into a complete system solution
Tight interaction with ATE test teams and security certification teams, to support a smooth mass-production ramp-up
Supervising and coaching a team of digital design engineers, with the objective to execute the tasks listed above
Managing the performance of the department
Monitoring and reporting the project progress to stakeholders
Continuous improvement of the IP/SoC design environment
Degree in electrical engineering or Computer Science
At least 8 years of experience in SoC Design & Design Verification
Solid understanding of SoC and microcontroller architectures (ARM preferred)
Solid experience and knowledge in IP development, SoC integration, system/sub-system testing
People management skills: proficient in leading and motivating cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, while at the same time being able to provide strong technical leadership to a growing team
Crisp and concise communication skills (both verbal and written) are required
Knowledge of secure microcontroller / smart card architectures is beneficial, but not a must
Good team player, with the ability to coach your team members, and to work across functional and cultural boundaries
Quality-minded, result oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to question and identify weaknesses in specifications, tool environments, etc.
