IHS Markit is looking for an experienced professional with quantitative/investment background to join the Index Product Analysis & Design team in Noida.
The focus of the role is to support the development of new IHS Markit and bespoke indices for clients, focusing on leveraging assets available to IHS Markit and creating innovative products.
Additionally, the individual will also manage projects on the setup and integration of new fixed income and FX indices into production.
Quality control: checks and testing of index calculation and output files around the release of new indices
Duties & accountabilities
The individual will:
Perform modelling of index methodologies in order to produce index constituent list and weights, and to back-test results.
Perform tasks associated with the setup of indices and the process of the index rebalancing
Specify the implementation for the internal IT development
Closely cooperate with dealers and asset managers during the setup process
Verify the index calculation and implementation process around the release of new indices
Partner with the IT, Sales, Index Management and Index Operations teams as well as other teams in IHS Markit globally.
Education and experience
University post graduate or equivalent, preferably in computing, finance-related or natural sciences.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Python and SQL programming skills
Proven financial markets knowledge or knowledge of standard financial data vendor software is a plus.
Problem solving abilities and modelling
Detail orientation and excellence in data management
Organized, energetic and independent work style
Enthusiasm and proactivity with focus on delivery and quality of the projects
Ability to work in a team environment, as the work is across teams and client facing.
Understanding of indices, bonds and equities
Candidates should have the capability and motivation to take on greater responsibilities in future
Strong problem-solving skills

Strong work ethics
High level of competency and good communication skills both written, and verbal required.
