MediaKind has a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced team who develop and drive the tooling to support the ongoing design, development and delivery of the increasingly cloud-based deployments.

You will be part of a team that have led research and development in television for more than 25 years’ and are the recognised industry leaders and whilst the screen you’re watching won’t bear our name, be it a phone, tablet, PC or conventional TV, the pictures are very likely processed by our equipment or technology on their way to you.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly changing sector, where there is a shift from custom designed, embedded hardware to cloud based processing using standardised IT technologies.

You will join the existing development teams in driving the development of the tooling which supports the ongoing design, development and delivery of the increasingly cloud-based deployments.

As a DevOps engineer you will play a key role, contributing to and enhancing our expertise in CI / CD, AWS, Kubernetes, Linux and general infrastructure administration, particularly focused on enabling continuous delivery of our platform.

You will be required to work closely with architects, developers, product owners and business stakeholders to design and deliver innovative solutions across the domain of Media Processing and Delivery.

Essential Experience:

The ideal candidate should be an experienced DevOps Engineer, you should demonstrate a positive, constructive agile approach, and the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly.

You should have a passion for all aspects of software development from design through to product deployment and support.

Demonstrable experience and skills;

  • Commercial experience of Containers, Virtualisation and Orchestration
  • Commercial experience using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Demonstrable experience of fault finding and problem-solving on complex systems
  • Continuous Integration/Delivery tooling such as Jenkins
  • Security Awareness and Best Practices
  • An understanding and appreciation of Agile software development methodologies
  • Linux (development environment and product use)
  • uServices Architecture
  • Comfortable working mostly on the command line, and using automated approaches to perform routine tasks
  • Ability to develop tools and scripts in, for example, Python, Go or an equivalent language

Desirable:

  • Experience of automation for QA and DevOps
  • Big data and machine learning
  • Experience influencing product roadmaps

Qualifications:

•Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

•Computer Science, Broadcast Media or Maths background highly desired

•Working knowledge of software development practices and technologies highly desired
