As a Development Engineer you are one of the Full Stack developers in a small Agile team that works on innovative initiatives. As soon as an exploration phase leads to a possible client solution for a specific demand or a detailed problem, your team will create an MVP (Minimum Viable Product). The goal is to share the MVP with prospective users as soon as possible to (in) validate the proposition. Of the proven and scalable initiatives, some will be implemented as part of the ABN AMRO label, others will mark the start of a completely new company!
Working on an initiative - in more detail
During sprint 0, the focus is on onboarding and the creation of the first outlines of the solution. In the second week, the focus shifts to the product backlog, determining priorities and the selection of the technology to be used.
From sprint 1 you will start building on all the components the solution needs. You could be programming connections to data sources one day and build the front-end of a web page or test the code, the next. Or have a meeting with another department within the bank to learn more about the use of technologies like API's, Blockchain and AI.
Tools and technology
You have a state-of-art AWS platform at your disposal to create MVP’s. This environment is fully tailored for fast implementation and cooperation with external parties. Should the desired solution require more than the available technology offers, you will explore and determine which technology could fill the gap.
