As a member of the Customer Development team you will be an exemplary representative of  Hill's Pet Nutrition, committed to consumer advocacy and delivering great outcomes for both our consumers, the community and our company. You will join us for a 12 month fixed term contract, 5 days a week from Monday to Friday and will be based in our Auckland (NewZealand) Office.

Job Title : Customer Development Manager 

Job Summary

  • The Customer Development Manager will establish ‘best practice’ Customer Management in both Vet and Pet channels. Develop business planning process, negotiation and implementation in both Vet & Pet customers and their ecommerce businesses.
  • The CDM is responsible for planning and implementing sales and business plans for Tier 1 Vet, Pet & Ecommerce Accounts  i.e. achieve agreed sales volume, space, assortment and promotional exposure goals, in both brick & mortar and on-line.
  • The CDM will manage Pet Doctors & Care Vets customer plans including trading terms and joint business plans.
  • The CDM will manage The Pet Centre, PetStock & Pet.co.nz customer plans including trading terms and promotional plans.
  • High interaction with commercial team throughout the sales planning processes.
  • Communicate persuasively the technical superiority, practical application and commercial benefits of Hill’s products in key accounts to enable Hill’s Pet Nutrition to be the strategic partner of choice in super premium nutrition.

Develops and implements agreed annual business plans for Tier 1 customers ( external)

  • Deliver sales volume & net sales objectives for each customer.
  • Space/visibility within designated accounts of Hill’s existing products.
  • Rapid acceptance and distribution of new products & increased distribution on existing products
  • Work with customer and commercial team to deliver JPB category initiatives.
  • Develop business plans to align with Pet Doctors, Care Vets, PetStock, Pet.co.nz, Pet Centre.
  • Leverage business analytics to improve fact based discussions. ( ROI)
  • Develops and implements agreed promotion plans which respond competitively to the needs of the customer and which are consistent with overall sales and marketing plans.
  • Monitors competitor activity in each account.  Action appropriate response, formulate and implement where necessary, and that all relevant competitor information is disseminated
  • Monitors the achievement of sales objectives with each major account and identifies and proposes plans for exploiting business development activities and implements plans for remedial action where necessary.
  • Maintains close contact with the key decision makers in each account to allow the development and maintenance of excellent relationships between the Company and customers.
