Job Description

As an expert in the DevOps field, you will be instrumental in providing project delivery and 3rd level technical support for technology, infrastructure and applications.  With a strong focus on web hosting, infrastructure automation and supporting a continuous delivery environment, you bring a strong commercial IT background, with skills in building relationships with key stakeholders and team members.
Your primary objectives will be to:

  • Deliver assigned projects and other work;
  • Support and provide expertise across infrastructure systems and applications;
  • Work closely with Development and other Infrastructure teams;
  • Research new technologies and contribute to their selection and implementation;
  • Review, maintain and ensure controls for network and applications security are adhered to;
  • Provide mentoring to IT Support and Operations staff.

Skills Required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or a relevant field;
  • Experience managing and maintaining public facing web servers;
  • Demonstrated experience with AWS;
  • Strong scripting and automation skills in one or more of PowerShell, Python, Bash or Ruby. Python preferred;
  • Firewall knowledge: iptables, firewall configuration;
  • Linux automated installation experience:  kickstart/satellite, AMI builds etc;
  • Basic CI/CD knowledge, including the use of tools like Jenkins and Bamboo;
  • Basic Git skills: know how to commit, create branches, create pull requests, etc;
  • F5 knowledge, including LTM (load balancing,  iRule creation and configuration), ASM (WAF) and APM (SSO);
  • Experience with Ansible;
  • Experience with CloudFormation;
  • Experience with centralized logging e.g. CloudWatch logs, ELK stack;
  • Demonstrable networking skills (CIRD);
  • Understanding of security principles;
  • Experience with (Advantageous, but not required) PostgreSQL, MS SQL, MySQL; Docker; CloudWatch; Zabbix; New Relic.
