Job Purpose

The Surgical Education and Events Coordinator is the key owner for the implementation of educational design and strategy responsible for the organization and follow-up for all Surgical Educational Activities and Events for the BNL. Responsible to foster Surgical digital capabilities and presence in BNLX.

Major Accountabilities

  • Implementation of patient awareness campaigns and communications within AT key accounts aligned with AT product manager

  • Organization of educational events linked to 3rd party events and dry labs

  • Shape the participation to national congresses by reflecting product and services strategies

  • Support to organize educational events and patient awareness campaigns at account level on-sight in health care institutions (virtual and physical)

  • Explore and implement effective communication strategy using digital technologies to extend share of voice within and beyond different segments including social media in line with guidelines

  • Responsible for design and implementation of educational strategy in collaboration with PMs and SAMs

  • Support in educational plan at account level as part of commercial solutions

  • Support in organizing in-house and external dry labs

  • Leverage and optimize AEA content to BNL context and promote educational opportunities within this channel using and managing Alcon website

  • Pitcher usage and analytics (in Salesforce)

  • Collaborate with Marketing team on educational and training activities towards HCPs and patients

Key Performance Indicators

  • Strengthen and enhance customer awareness of Alcon solution through digital platforms

  • Support and effective management of patient awareness campaigns to customers with best options and approach for business continuity & customer satisfaction

  • Support and organization of Educational events with the aim at building a strong and positive relationship with customers and KOLs and being fully aligned with the rules & laws in doing so

  • Centralize and insure follow up on all communication to partners and customers

  • Compliance to guidelines, rules and regulations

Background  (Key elements of the job requirements)


  • Minimum:

    • Bachelor’s and/or Master degree in Marketing or

    • Bachelor’s and/or Master degree in Communications and/or

    • Experience with marketing and events in health care industry


  • Fluent in English, Dutch and French (both oral and written)


  • Marketing and event experience is essential

  • Candidates with 2-4 years of pharma or medical device industry


  • Deep understanding of healthcare and medical device

  • Customer Focus

  • Deep knowledge of professional social media and digital platforms

  • Basic Surgical Product knowledge

  • Strong planning & project management skills; excels in priority setting  and problem solving

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills

  • Marketing, technical and commercial affinity

  • Strong communication skills in interactions with internal and external contacts ; Presentation skills

  • Creative person that follows new trends in the market in educational materials and events
