Dow has an opportunity for a Direct Tax Specialist located in Buenos Aires (Argentina). Use working knowledge and experience in the Finance job discipline to analyze financial information and translate it into information useful for Tax purposes. By working in a high-performance cross-functional team environment, the Tax Specialist understands key business drivers and uses this understanding to analyze local tax issues, appeals, compliance, legislative tax policy, and tax planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides process for annual tax activities management with respect to country tax legislation (i.e.. Annual Income Tax, Transfer Pricing, Schedules, Annual Tax Information, Fiscal Inform, and External Audits).

  • Acts as a communication link to Tax Authorities, External Audit Staff, and Tax Advisors and can explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

  • Monitors, develops, and analyzes Tax legislation proposals and their impact on Dow companies.

  • Preparation of information and management of tax audits

  • Acts in compliance with SOX policies and procedures.

  • Provides support in functional due diligence and planning for mergers and acquisitions.

  • Acts within the scope of a small geography or business.

  • Demonstrates technical Tax Accounting capabilities.

  • Demonstrates initiative and certain degree of leadership in this role and may provide informal guidance to new team members.

  • Participates in local projects with commercial people, legal, and controllers.

Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting

  • 3/5 years tax experience in a Big 4 firm and/or relevant tax experience in a Multinational Company.

  • Relevant experience in the following areas: SAP / One Source / Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PP, etc)

  • Advanced English in verbal and written communications, native Spanish.
