Position Summary
Medical Workforce Unit (MWU) staff work together to deliver the full range of medical recruitment and administrative support to PH medical practitioners, Clinical Directors and Executive Directors.
The Director Medical Workforce Unit works with MWU staff, Clinical Directors and the Executive Director Medical Services (EDMS) to deliver efficient and effective recruitment and overall co-ordination of medical and dental staff requirements at Peninsula Health.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, direct and control Medical Workforce Unit
• Lead implementation of MWU component of the Peninsula Health Workforce Plan Towards 2025
• Lead policy development and provide expert knowledge and advice on relevant policies and awards as they affect medical and dental staff including wellbeing of medical and dental staff
• Lead day to day issues associated with medical and dental staff and ensure they are resolved in a timely and effective manner
• Ensure the senior and junior medical staff recruitment and retention processes are robust, and delivering adequate numbers of skilled medical staff in a responsive and timely way
• Ensure medical credentialing and scope of practices are robust and being managed in a responsive and timely way
• Ensure that junior doctor training and support programs and processes are comprehensive and accessible
Essential Criteria
• Extensive experience in human resources administration, contract, project management and business
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
• Superior understanding and knowledge of medical workforce issues in Australia and overseas
• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and ability to work autonomously, within broad direction, to develop and implement programs
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of a senior management team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
