If you've never heard of Melco, then perhaps you've heard about or even visited one of our many casino and resort facilities located throughout Asia, including the City of Dreams, the Hollywood-inspired Studio City, and the Altira Macau. We believe that we can redefine our industry by delivering world-class digital experiences. So we're creating a new group, called the Digital Transformation Office, to drive this vision forward.

As the Director of Engineering within this new group, you’ll play the dual role of player-manager. As a player, you’ll be responsible for crafting usable, adaptable, reliable, and secure software. You’ll use the latest lean and agile thinking to solve tough problems and challenge yourself and others every day. As a manager, you'll oversee a group of 15 engineers. You’ll play a critical role in not only driving our digital projects to success, but also in reinventing our industry.

  • Creating enduring solution architectures using techniques such as API-first design and microservices.
  • Using DevOps tools and practices to deliver software with speed and stability.
  • Capitalizing on advances in the application of data such as predictive analytics, data science, artificial intelligence, and bots.
  • Applying the latest technology thinking to capture big opportunities and solve tough challenges.


We’re looking for someone who has the ability to:

  • Recruit, grow, and oversee a group of 15 engineers, including personal development, coaching, staffing, and performance management.
  • Collaborate with others to invent, implement, and deploy new systems and improvements to existing systems.
  • Engineer new systems and changes to existing systems to support new functionality.
  • Build functionality to ship new experiences and technologies.
  • Maintain production systems and investigate issues when they occur.
  • Create tools and processes to automate our development, testing, and production workflows.
  • Work in a product-oriented, team-based environment that uses modern digital delivery approaches such as user experience design, lean, agile, DevOps, and cloud computing.
  • Work within, but not be constrained by, our existing technical environment that makes use of languages, frameworks, techniques, and technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, jQuery, Node.js, Angular, Responsive Design, Twitter Bootstrap, Java, Groovy, Ruby, PHP, Python, Spring, Grails, Rails, REST APIs, JSON, SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, AWS, and Azure. (A lot of our applications are currently Java-based.)
  • Collaborate with fellow leaders, including the Director of Experience Design, the Director of Agile Coaching, and the Director of Strategy Operations, to create a high-performing teams.
