What you’ll do

In a few words…

Abarcans assemble! There are plenty of jobs to get done. There’s data to protect, actuarial science to calculate, formularies to be written and updated, people to keep healthy, issues to be handled, software to be designed, etc. And all those jobs need expert, highly qualified “people” (they’re really superheroes, but we’re supposed to keep that quiet) to do them. Not just anyone will do, obviously so the Agents of Abarca need a special team member that can find the right people for the right job and lead a team of agents who are also good at recruiting talent. In comes the Director of Talent Acquisition, aka, The Enlister. That’s you; a strategic planner and leader that can build a successful, long-lasting team.

As the Abarcan Enlister, you will design and implement recruiting strategies for our company and oversee the recruitment team procedures, from sourcing to hiring. The Abarcan Enlister manages a team of recruiters and identifies high-potential candidates so they can join our team. The Enlister reports to the VP of Talent Strategy.

The fundamentals for the job…

  • Develop talent acquisition strategies and hiring plans (Go ahead and propose something out-of-the-box.)
  • Prepare and review our annual recruitment budget
  • Perform benchmark research on compensation (Obviously we don’t expect to hire the best without the right compensation.)
  • Oversee all stages of candidate experience, including application, interviews, and communication
  • Forecast hiring needs based on business growth plans (Crystal balls and divinatory paraphernalia are allowed.)
  • Manage, lead, mentor, and develop a team of high performing recruitment professionals to align with business delivery needs (This is your chance to be like Nick Fury. Be like Nick Fury and recruit the best superheroes out there!)
  • Lead targeted executive searches in partnership with leaders, senior recruiters, and recruiting agencies (Hey, sometimes we need a little help from our friends.)
  • Demonstrate Jedi Master levels of negotiating skills while working with recruitment agencies and for senior roles that work on behalf of both the company and the talent
  • Coach data-driven recruiting and sourcing teams leveraging analytics and industry intelligence to provide insights and decision support
  • Measure key recruitment metrics like source of hire, time-to-hire, hiring managers’ response time, and provide recommendations to constantly improve the process
  • Consult with senior and executive teams to thoroughly understand the talent needed to successfully deliver in accordance with the organization’s vision and long-term goals (I mean, sometimes you need someone who can shoot webs and climb walls and others you will need mind control. Use your talents wisely.)
  • Collaborate on recruitment branding efforts to help attract top talent, such as speaking engagements, events, meet-ups, writing articles, etc. (If the “Abarcans assemble” call isn’t enough we would be surprised.)
  • Perform other related functions as needed (Because we all need to step out of our comfort zone sometime.)

What you’re made of

The bold requirements…

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field.
  • 8+ years of talent acquisition experience
  • 5+ years of recruiting management experience
  • 2+ years of experience devising and implementing talent acquisition strategies for a fast-growth tech environment and leading a high-performance sourcing team
  • Previous recruiting experience at a software/technology company
  • We don’t require it, but you’ll put a sparkle in our eye if you have previous experience in PBM recruitment.
  • Demonstrable experience managing full cycle recruiting and employer branding initiatives (Show, don’t tell.)
  • Solid understanding of sourcing techniques and tools (e.g. social networks) (We’re talking diamond solid.)
  • Excelling analytical and reporting skills with a proven ability to design and implement creative TA solutions that drive business results
  • Superb team-management abilities (You WILL be managing a branch of the Abarcans.)
  • Leader and strategic thinker
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships with internal teams, external partners, and senior role candidates (Bring out the pendulum and mind controlling substances if you must.)
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Your Microsoft Office Suite powers (Word, Excel, Outlook) should be phenomenal. We’re talking Jedi Master levels the likes of Yoda. That also applies to any Applicant Tracking System.
  • Ability to travel locally and within the US and desire to work flexible shifts based on business’ need (Obviously, you can’t expect all the right superheroes to be at the same spot.)
  • Must be authorized to work in US territory.

  3. Strategic - You’ve played every strategy game out there. Your mother claims you were born with a chessboard instead of a placenta attached to your umbilical cord and this could well be true. You’re always 3 steps ahead of the game, quickly spotting relevant patterns and issues
  4. Influencer - No, you don’t need thousands of followers on Instagram, but your persuasive skills are so sharp people wonder if you’ve hypnotized them. Managing prospects is second nature to you and you know how and when to push others.
  5. Builder - You are the little dots on the Lego pieces. Thanks to you, the pieces come together and stay together so the team can make amazing things.
