Our documentation is an integral part of our product offering and the first point of reference for customers seeking assistance.

Currently we are looking for a Technical Writer* to deliver technical information that helps customers use Software AG products successfully. He or she will produce documentation and online help that is accurate, useful, well written, and well organized. The Technical Writer* will deliver documentation under the mentorship and supervision of a Senior or Lead Technical Writer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Have a solid understanding of the products to be documented
  • Write linguistically and grammatically correct documentation that ultimately is useful to the end user
  • Comply with department standards of quality, accuracy, and completeness, following currently accepted principles of design, organization and usability
  • Produce and deliver technically immaculate online help systems following project plans and release dates
  • Establish solid relations with subject matter experts, product teams and colleagues
  • Prepare reasonable schedules and estimates for the workload of the assigned area and monitor and meet the requested deadlines

YOUR PROFILE

This position requires linguistic, technical and collaborative skills.

  • Excellent skills in English, spoken and written
  • University degree in engineering, information-related, linguistics, or equivalent field coupled with up to 2 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of HTML, XML (preferably DITA) and mark-up languages is an advantage
  • Previous experience with documentation tools is highly desirable (e.g. XMetaL, Oxygen or similar, versioning tools such as SVN or Git, as well as graphic tools)
  • Hands-on experience working in an agile environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing product priorities
  • Strong focus on the end-user's requirements
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent team player in a widely distributed international team
