The StreetLight project is a Christian run indoor skate park and cafe based in Wimborne, Dorset.

The Project is seeking a weekend Duty Manager to join the team, in a part time role, from December 2019. You will work alongside the Centre Manager, Project Director and Trustees as well as the volunteers that help at the Centre. The successful candidate would be able to manage the Centre on a day-to-day basis and, as a committed Christian, promote the Christian ethos of the charity.

Genuine Occupational Requirement

  • Successful candidates will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
  • Employment Equality Regulations 2003 relating to Religion or Belief and Sexual Orientation

For the purpose of the above Regulations it is considered to be a Genuine Occupational Requirement that the post-holder is a Christian.

Your continued employment is dependent on your adherence to the statement of faith of the Project and your life being led in accordance with the Code of Conduct.

Reporting to: Centre Manager

Working hours: 16 hours per week (potential additional hours available for centre events).

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Managing the café and skate park.
  • Opening and closing of the centre.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Undertake other duties as may be reasonably expected.

  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about working with people, encouraging a sense of community with the ability to work quickly, remaining welcoming and friendly to customers.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • Have great initiative and ability to work under pressure.
  • Be a committed Christian who attends Church regularly.

Please note that scooter and skateboard skills are not required.


  • Café management understanding and awareness.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene legislation.
  • Qualification in hospitality/catering.
  • Up to date First Aid at Work qualification or willingness to undertake.
