We are looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer IoT to join our team! You will own our IoT technology stack, a combination of hardware and firmware, and continuously develop and deliver it, end to end. This is an exciting opportunity on the forefront of IoT innovation in the electro-mobility space and you will play a key role in us becoming the leading global provider of e-bikes.


  • Work closely with the Director of Products and others at Zoomo to define IoT features and assess technical implementation feasibility of those features
  • Translate user needs & business feature requests into system requirements and systematically development the requirements flow-down including interface requirements across sub-systems & the technology stack
  • Lead the electronics and firmware conceptualisation, design, analysis, testing and integration of systems and sub-systems by a hands-on approach and by providing guidance to the internal team and external technology vendors
  • Lead problem-solving and failure analysis, perform structured root cause analysis, decide on the best course of action by a hands-on approach or by providing guidance to the internal team and external technology vendors
  • Apply best development practices such as design reviews, risk analysis, critical thinking to identify strength and weaknesses of solutions and proper documentation
  • Lead continuous cost reduction and quality improvement activities of the IoT stack as well as continuously scout, assess and test relevant IoT technology
  • Work in a cross-functional environment and ensure results are delivered in a multi-culturural and multi-sites organisation


We are looking for a candidate who is experienced with designing embedded hardware and software systems, who can take a hands-on approach but also guide others to achieve the desired outcome. This role requires someone who can truly work cross-functional, with external vendors and ideally with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.

  • Relevant degree (e.g. Embedded Systems, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics)
  • Proven experience in electronics and ideally firmware product development, sub-systems, and system integration, from concept development to market launch
  • Skilled in connected products, embedded software, and connectivity, including up to date knowledge of wireless technologies like Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, GPS, reasonable experience with antennas
  • Knowledge of cross-functional workflow mapping, requirements development, definition of interface control documents, test cases, test execution and documentation
  • Knowledge of circuit design & PCBA development, microcontroller technology, communication protocols (CAN bus), best design practices and relevant standards (EMC)
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++ and IoT frameworks such as MS Azure, AWS
  • Experience in working and communicating with OEM/ODM external vendors and cross-functional teams
  • Structured way of working and fundamental project management and planning skills
  • Strong work ethics and commitment to achieving results, willingness to work outside office hours as required due to the global nature of our business
