Field engineer

Gcore is looking for a hard-skilled Field engineer for our Infrastructure team located in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the on-site data center operation teams which is installing, maintaining and decommissioning network and server hardware
• Support and collaborate with internal & external teams to assist with DCIM issues resolution.
• Rack & Stack servers and network devices in the Data center
• Upgrade/Replace system components (CPU, RAM, Drives etc.)
• Equipment diagnostic and troubleshooting
• Perform cabling (UTP/optic fibers/twinax), following best practices. Audit existing cable system (tracing), make changes to connectivity
• Perform testing and troubleshooting copper/fiber optic cables. Test circuits and end to end links.
• Handle inbound and outbound shipments (unpacking, identification, packing).
• Perform assets inventory
• Create infrastructure diagrams, records, documentation
• Collaborate with facilities personnel relating to an open facilities incident

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Networking or Computer hardware
• Knowledge of industry DCIM standards
• Understanding of mission-critical power distribution, UPS, PDU and electrical topologies
• Understanding of various components of structured cabling systems and it's design
• Ability to maintain equipment, investigate issues and deploy solutions independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to consistently deliver results despite competing priorities and distractions.
• Travel to data center sites (20% to 25% of working time)
• Fluent in English
• Candidate needs to be based in any of these locations and should work onsite: Singapore, USA (Chicago, Miami), Brazil (Sao Paulo), Germany (Frankfurt) Netherlands, Amsterdam
