About the role

The role expects you to lead a team of software developers providing leadership, mentorship and accountability in translating business requirements to highly scalable and reliable solutions. This will involve being able to take high level ideas, breaking it down to executable components and working with the team to code, build, integrate, test deploy and maintain these solutions. You will be proficient with advances in development processes, algorithms and design patterns and tend to find simple implementations over complexity.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively ideate, identify, develop solutions to problems

  • Work with stakeholders to verify and bring consensus towards solutions, unblocking the team, setting timelines and be accountable for deliverables

  • Lead the team by providing leadership, mentorship as required while maintaining a hands on approach by contributing code

  • Setting and maintaining accountability for high quality design, code and development practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 8-12 years of work experience.

  • Strong grasp of fundamentals -  object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms

  • Demonstrated problem solving capability

  • Expertise in Java / Python / Ruby / Go, NoSQL and SQL databases

  • Demonstrable expertise with multi-tiered distributed architectures

  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions

  • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think in abstract

  • Adept at software engineering practices & best practices for the software development life cycle - coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Experience with disparate technologies and cloud based technologies is a big plus
