SWE Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of engineers. As an Engineering Manager, you'll help your team be more productive than they would have been working individually, and assist them in their development. You remove roadblocks, build the team's credibility, and positively represent the team to others at Google.
Specifically for Coding Tools, you contribute to transforming Google's internal development tools into an integrated suite of products with well-defined extensibility mechanisms. This role offers ample opportunities for impact and growth, both in the technical and leadership and management fields.
The Core Systems team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core Systems team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
