The Engineering Technician C will work under the guidance of the manufacturing engineer or site lead for the manufacturing build of Modernization of Enterprise Terminals (MET) or MET Depot hardware and field installations. This position is responsible for the installation and integration of MET equipment at various government customer locations throughout the world.
Field installation/integration of MET equipment and hardware.
Proficient at interpreting mechanical/electrical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
Follow defined processes.
Provide limited documentation support, such as minor edits to existing procedures and/or technical drawings.
Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to manager/site leads.
Must be able to work in fast-paced, schedule driven environment, without sacrificing product quality. Ability to logically address, analyze, and resolve problems.
Able to work under general supervision. Acute attention to detail, excellent organizational skills.
Candidate must be creative, open-minded, and a good listener.
Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical internal customers.
Able to spend considerable time standing, bending, twisting, bending and kneeling while building a variety of assemblies.
Able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and reach for items on shelves
Able to work with general manufacturing hand tools, computers and electronic troubleshooting tools such as multi-meters and power supplies.
Use basic hand tools for mechanical assembly, metalworking machines and precision measuring and testing instruments.
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Active US DOD SECRET security clearance
Experience in mechanical and electrical integration
Developing organizational skills to track movement and usage of test equipment
Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted or 80 lbs. as part of a two-man team
Ability to work in confined spaces or external environment (various weather conditions) for long periods of time (> 2 hours).
Ability to work holidays, weekends; work may include shift work.
Ability to travel up to 100%, as required, to support field installation work assignments.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in as an engineering technician in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Requires the ability to work in a fast-moving environment under tight schedules and coordinate multiple tasks effectively.
Must be able to work closely with production personnel and follow written and verbal instructions.
