Currently we are looking out for a
European Black Belt specialist to join our team, located in Diegem/Belgium.
Purpose of the role:
This role is supporting the
European Merchant Gases distribution and logistics teams in their efforts to optimise all distribution activities in the Merchant Gases supply chain. Through the application of Lean/Sigma continuous improvement techniques as well as mathematical optimisation methods, you will contribute to the productivity and work process efficiency projects in the areas of tactical and strategic network optimisation, transport scheduling and maintenance planning, haulier contract management, driver safety and efficiency programs, distribution sustainability projects and supply chain inventory management.
Guided by European supply chain functional leaders, execute Lean/Sigma/Operations Research projects driving productivity and work process efficiency improvements in the following areas:
Tactical and strategic Liquid products network optimisation (distribution component)
Packaged Gases supply network optimisation
Transport scheduling (include use of optimisers)
Vehicle maintenance activities (planning and execution)
Haulier contract management
Driver safety and efficiency programs
Distribution sustainability projects
Supply chain inventory management
Support change management activities in country organisations to ensure successful adoption of new initiatives.
Support the build out of effective management reporting apps (incl. balanced scorecards).
Support training and coaching of Green Belt trainees.
Staying abreast of external continuous improvement methods and evaluating their potential for internal application.
Minimum requirements and qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in distribution or supply chain optimisation.
Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Research or Mathematics or an equivalent degree.
Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certified and practical experiences.
Good knowledge of SAP(supply chain), operations research techniques, Minitab and Qlik analytics platforms.
Project management skills.
Language Skills: fluent in English, Spanish and French are a plus.
Analytical and methodical mindset with an eagerness to learn and improve.
Strong ability to influence individuals and management and drive peak performance.
Ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organisation.
Positive and flexible mentality.
Potential to become an analytical team manager.
