How will I help?
Reporting to the Head of Business Controls, Risk and Change for Financial Markets, the Operational Risk Lead will be responsible for managing regulatory change across the end -to-end value chain for Financial Markets. Leading a small team of Risk Managers, you will be the 1LOD on change projects to ensure risks are appropriately identified and addressed whilst ensuring business objectives are met.
You will work in conjunction with the business to ensure the Projects deliver & document clear processes aligned with compliance obligations relevant to Financial Markets and ensure they are smoothly implemented into BAU in line with the 3LOD policy. You will enhance risk-return within Financial Market’s risk and compliance appetite and continue to embed adequate controls to manage operational risk, including achieving compliance with regulatory obligations.
Partnering with the WIB Risk & Controls teams and various Divisional Heads, the Operational Risk Lead will create meaningful relationships to translate the complex into the simple, and communicate with passion to support the risk & compliance appetite.

What do I need?
A strong candidate will bring experience across 1 st Line Operational Risk with a background across audit or assurance within the Banking or Financial Services sector. You will bring a knowledge of strong risk management principles and display relevant experience in providing risk advice within the context of Financial Markets. You will have proven experience in delivering Risk and Change projects. Experience dealing with Regulatory bodies is highly desirable.
A hands on leader, you will have the ability to influence at all levels skills and be highly proficient with both your verbal and written communication. You will be asked to challenge and hold your own amongst some key people across the organisation and provide your thought leadership on several matters.
