About the Opportunity

You will have at least 5 years’ experience working as a Leading Hand within a workshop environment with a strong technical background in either pipefitting and/or boiler making.  You will be able to work unsupervised whilst maintaining high quality and productivity.  You will also be able to assist the Welding Supervisor in day to day duties as required.

Typical duties will include:

  • Welding structural steel
  • Pipe Welding (SS, Mild Steel)
  • Pipe fitting
  • Fabrication
  • Work to engineering drawings and quality requirements

About You

  • Have an Australian recognised trade certificate, qualified as a Pipe Fitter or Boiler Maker or Heavy Duty Fabricator.
  • Can competently weld GTAW,GMAW,FCAW processes.
  • Extensive experience in pipe fabrication.
  • Be familiar with interpreting engineering drawings with high attention to detail.
  • You will have excellent work ethic.
  • Passionate about working safely.
  • Be organised, self-motivated.
  • Outcome focused and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good communicator who enjoys developing others.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Must have own baseline tools
  • Must have current drivers' license (MR-HR would be advantageous)
  • Forklift ticket
  • Available to work occasional additional hours
  • Previous experience of working for a similar sized manufacturing / construction business would be highly desirable.
