Boronia Residential Aged Care home has 60 aged care residential beds and is located in Boronia, Victoria.  We pride ourselves on delivering the best care for our residents and firmly believe that happy staff equates to happy residents.

About the Role ...

The Facility Manager is a highly valued team member who report the General Manager - Residential Care.   The Facility Manager has responsibility of their residential home successful business operations, including managing the facility leadership team and care team as well as ensures the support, care and emotional well-being of our residents.

The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the business operations of the home and a high standard of care for residents including a high level clinical care, lifestyle activities, quality of meals and emotional well-being. At all times the Facility Manager ensures the home meets the Aged Care Quality Standards legislative and statutory requirements and regulations and is successful with Accreditations.  Key to the success of  this position are operational efficiency, sustainable best practice, maximising income and occupancy.  

About you ...

You are a highly organised and self-motivated individual with excellent clinical and management knowledge of aged care - someone who can manage their time and be flexible with their workloads.  You will have business experience in managing staff matters including overseeing the roster and managing the budget.  You'll have a high level of skills in mentoring your team and a focus on internal leadership and empathy and compassion for residents and their families.

To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following: 

Essential skills and competencies:

  • At least 3 years experience as a Manager of a Residential Aged Care Home.
  • Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse or / and Business qualified
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Friendly and positive personality.
  • Exceptional clinical care and residential aged care knowledge  
  • Experience liaising and managing meetings with residents and family members.
  • High level leadership and mentoring/coaching skills
  • Experience managing staff and employee relations matters.
  • Understanding of rostering and managing within a budget 
  • High level of computer and documentation business written skills 
  • Ability to smoothly run and manage a variety of issues in a calm manner
  • Demonstrated practice and knowledge of Hygiene and Safety practices in aged care
  • A good understanding and ability to successfully comply with the Aged Care Quality Standards, documentation requirements, accreditation and ACFI requirements
  • Experience and knowledge of continuous improvement and OH&S
  • Current police check

Desirable Experience and Qualifications:

  • Quality Assurance or Aged Care Standards training or qualification
  • Proven success in growing and maintaining occupancy.
  • Have successfully met Accreditation Standards in an Aged Care home
