Verra Mobility is hiring a Field Service Technician who will be part of a fast paced, high growth traffic enforcement technology department/company. You will install, wire, connect, calibrate, analyze, troubleshoot and maintain automated traffic enforcement systems, field WAN networks and surveillance equipment. You will also document, install, upgrade or replace hardware and software systems as needed. You will be traveling independently to locations where you will work with subcontractors, clients and Verra Mobility engineering staff to install and maintain red light camera and speed enforcement systems in the field.

The ideal candidate will contribute to Company and the Operations Department’s effectiveness and efficiency through the following responsibilities:

  • Perform wiring and troubleshooting of electrical and data connectivity hook ups for various mechanical and electronic equipment.
  • Programing/configuring of ITS, red light camera and speed enforcement systems in the field.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a variety of ITS, red light camera and speed enforcement system issues.
  • Must be able to prioritize, comply with processes and quality checklists.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, assignments and report service data.
  • Must be able to organize, manage and safeguard vehicle stock parts and tools.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and subcontractors in the field, fostering a good working relationship.
  • Assist with on the job training of other staff on Verra Mobility technologies and systems.
  • May assist with new site installations, including working with construction teams, installing and configuring sensor and camera components from scratch, etc.
  • Preventative and remedial maintenance of Redflex’s systems. (may require out of ours work) including rotating on call coverage.
  • Attend emergency faults and knock downs. (requires participation in on-call roster and out of ours work).
  • Trained in Redflex Technologies, Service Management Methodologies and tools or equivalent training preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic components, connectivity wiring, computer hardware and data/video cabling required
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft windows operating systems required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently (safely and responsibly), as well as in a team and with subcontractors
  • Travel to work sites throughout Victoria and occasionally interstate.
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to obtain the following certifications within 180 days from date of hire:
    • CPCCOHS1001A Work safely in the construction industry (White Card)
    • RIIWHS205D Control traffic with a stop-slow bat
    • RIIWHS302D Implement traffic management plans
    • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
    • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
    • HLTAID003 Provide first aid
    • Site specific induction (e.g. Citylink, Melbourne Airport)
    • Road Authority Indications (e.g. LendLease, TransUrban)
  • Operate hand and power tools
  • Handle regular exposure to outside elements
  • Able to remotely access, troubleshoot and configure components
  • Able to read and wire a site to a wiring schematic
  • National Police Clearance (or regional equivalent)
