Job Description Summary

The role of Finance Business Partner is responsible for managing and supporting the Account Manager in delivering the client’s annual operating plan. The incumbent will have a high degree of independence in how they operate on a day-to-day basis and will be required to exercise judgement that will impact organisation wide.

The role of Finance Business Partner is responsible for managing and supporting the Account Manager in delivering the client’s annual operating plan.

Annual operating plan consists of circa $130M opex spend with over 410 properties consisting of large commercial offices, HVIS, Depots, storage, radio sites, training and Sydney trains network depots.

The role is responsible for ensuring operating cost saving initiatives are tracked and delivered with a critical partnership role with facilities and real estate services.

About the role:

  • Build strong customer relationships through outstanding stakeholder engagement.
  • Deliver clear and concise commercial analytics, including presentations to the client’s executive team (monthly management results, annual budget and other ad-hoc reporting).
  • Delivery of commercial and financial KPIs to Cushman & Wakefield clients whilst meeting high standards of service within contractual obligations.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the client’s annual budgets:
  • Compilation of the monthly and quarterly reports as per contractual deliverables, plus a suite of other contractual reports.
  • Monitoring of Corporate performance to ensure delivery of Cushman & Wakefield’s financial KPI targets.
  • Raising of Corporate revenue (fixed/ad hoc) and clearing of aged debtors
  • Accountable for reviewing profit & loss – accrual sign-off, prepayments and lease incentives completed.
  • Ensure completion of accurate balance sheet reconciliations
  • Submit lease commitment reporting, funds requests & fee invoicing
  • Quarterly forecasting and detailed commentary reporting to client on the variances to forecast/budget within the buildings financial report.
  • Complete end of financial year reconciliation of tenant outgoings and direct charges, and progress adjustments with tenants as required.
  • Ability to chair and present at client meetings, whilst responding to queries.
  • Encourage and develop a culture of knowledge sharing to facilitate transfer of best practice within the team and broader finance group.

  • Strong commercial & analytical background
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
  • Ability to prioritise work within tight deadlines
  • Capacity to deal with ambiguity and address problems within a changing work environment
  • Improve business processes to increase productivity
  • Treat people with respect and actively develop and encourage team performance
  • Strong commercial background, stakeholder engagement and exposure with senior management.
  • Experienced Qualified Accountant (CPA/CIMA/CFA preferred, CA)
  • Managerial experience.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel, PowerPoint, JDE knowledge a major advantage
