How will I help?
This role is part of the Chief Transformation Office (CTO) Finance team which supports the effective execution of the Consumer Bank strategy, with a focus on driving the Consumer Division’s simplification and transformation agendas.
This role is responsible for supporting the Consumer Division’s retail property portfolio focusing on business and project stakeholder engagement, forward looking analysis, monthly reporting activities and quarterly forecasting. This role is pivotal in articulating the drivers of the retail property performance in addition to identifying opportunities to improve the overall performance of the portfolio.
Partner with and build strong relationships with business, project and finance stakeholders to successfully quantify, deliver and track project initiatives critical to revenue growth, expense outcomes and customer experience. Ensure that these projects remain productive and on track to achieve high quality outcomes for the Consumer Division
Partner with CTO Finance Manager and support Finance Director to challenge solutions with our stakeholders through the analysis of data, metrics, and emerging trends in customer behavior and the external environment to ensure optimal project outcomes for the Consumer Bank and our customers.
Support project delivery teams to drive further self-service and accountability for project forecasting and reporting
Support month end process through analysis of performance and reporting of financial outcomes
Tracking of actual spend and benefits against plan and forecast, identifying any risks / issues and opportunities to the financial forecast / plan.
Automate manual reporting and control processes to ensure the integrity and accuracy of management accounting processes. Ensure all financial treatments are in adherence of Westpac Group accounting policy and guidelines and Project Governance methodologies
Implement process improvement within the team
Oversight of month-end general ledger close process and interaction with key stakeholders, with particular emphasis on cost / funding and FTE forecasting
Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
Working knowledge of financial accounting for financial services industry
2-5 years’ experience in an appropriate accounting environment
Professional qualification – CA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to partner with a wide variety of business and finance stakeholders.
Experience in analysis, reporting and financial modelling
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Microsoft Tools (including Word, PowerPoint) and advanced Excel and modelling knowledge
