JOB PURPOSE

As trusted Finance Business Partner, this role will lead the day-to-day cost centre owner relationships across the following Horseferry Campus functions: Finance, People, Corporate Affairs, Executives, Strategy and Admin & General and lead the consolidation for the same functions at a Global level. You will build strong partnership with the HR Business partners and the individual budget holders to operate as one team in delivering the day to day operations and long terms strategic plan in accordance with Burberry’s broader strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Partnering

  • Key business partner to the global corporate functions (Finance, People, Corporate Affairs, Executives, Strategy and Admin & General) acting as a key stakeholder across the decision making processes.
  • Work closely with the Regional finance business partners to ensure consistency and alignment in communicating with key stakeholders.
  • Engage regularly with all key stakeholders to ensure financial results are regularly communicated in a timely manner and risks / opportunities are identified/discussed, with appropriate actions in place.

Business Performance Management and Decision Support

  • With the support of the analytical team, provide analysis and insight to key stakeholders to ensure relevant decisions are made in a timely and informed way.
  • Manage the appraisal, preparation and presentation of new investment business cases to key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Work with the BBS Lead to establish and further improve processes to support a smooth delivery of the month-end close and transaction related activities.
  • As part of the month end process, the individual will play a key role in the consolidation and communication of the global corporate functions financial reports to the business (including Marketing and IT).

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Work with the functional teams to manage the preparation, review and communication of the global business forecast to the budget holders and key finance stakeholders.
  • Manage the preparation and review of budgets across the corporate functions to ensure the most appropriate allocation of resources is achieved in line with the business strategy and its priorities.
  • Manage the preparation of the functional budgets presentations to the Executive team.

Governance and Controls

  • Ensure adherence to governance controls, guidance received from group finance and audit recommendations.
  • Ensure appropriate financial rigour is applied on all key investment decisions and post investment reviews are carried out, with learnings communicated and embedded in future assessments.
  • Lead the monthly review of the balance sheet reconciliation performed by the BBS Team, and ensure that risks and opportunities are identified and communicated in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the BBS team to complete the half year, interim disclosure and year end processes.

  • Manage direct and indirect reports to enrich their knowledge and optimise their performance, both as individuals and as a team.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Qualified accountant ACA/CIMA or equivalent with demonstrable PQE.
  • Strong analytical background, with a good attention to detail.
