We have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Officer to join our finance team, based in either Sydney or Brisbane. In this role you will be tasked with providing a high level of matter management and client support, specifically in relation to maintaining accurate client and matter set ups, special rate requirements and e-billing.


  • Provide a high level of matter management and client support specifically in relation to maintaining accurate client and matter set ups, special rate requirements and e-billing.
  • Manage Norton Rose Fulbright group (global) matters; ensuring Norton Rose Fulbright group clients and matters are opened correctly in the practice management system and bills are processed in accordance with global procedures;
  • Perform initial setup steps on eBilling platforms in preparation for ebill uploads, maintain eBilling setups in the practice management system, perform monthly file uploads, liaise with eBilling vendors to correct/clarify any issues, investigate and correct any ebill upload failures, maintain ebill guides and ebill client register;
  • Manage existing client and matter information in the practice management system nationally. Including, global matters, client name changes, third party payors, GST treatment, fee estimates, matter transfers;
  • Set up and amend special rates on clients and matters in the practice management system
  • Assisting with WIP management / billing/ad hoc queries;
  • Identifying potential process improvements and efficiencies;
  • Providing assistance and support within the Client Accounting team to ensure smooth functioning of the finance department;


  • Proven experience working as a part of a finance function, law firm experience an advantage but not essential.
  • Highly developed time management and organisational skills with the ability to give attention to detail, to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated ability to use a high degree of initiative, and adopt a proactive approach to work;
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Aderant Expert or similar practice management system is preferred but not essential;
