We are looking for a Financial Controller - Netherlands and DACH to join our Global Business Services (GBS).
You will be responsible for driving compliance and financial reporting activities, fully managing the area of statutory financial reporting, US group reporting, tax accounting, balance sheet and P&L maintenance, ensuring organizational financial stability and statutory compliance for holding entities located in the Netherlands and DACH entities. The role is working within the Record to Reporting (RTR) team and will be cooperating closely with Controller’s office in support of other EMEA accounting matters.
Location: this opportunity is on remote (home based) for candidates already based in the Netherlands.
Completing Statutory Financial Statements.
Main point of contact for external auditors for providing source information and driving completion of statutory audits.
Ensure that all government returns such as corporate income tax, VAT, Intrastat, environmental and statistical reports etc. are duly prepared and submitted to the authorities.
Provide leadership to the overall corporate governance of those entities, interacting with the Local Board of Directors, Corporate Departments, and the Controller’s Office.
Oversee all payroll postings and associated reconciliations.
Complete responsibility for US GAAP balance sheet month end reporting process.
Building key relationships with the GBS accounting teams, tax, treasury, internal control, external audit and Controller’s office.
Networking with other EMEA members of financial reporting organization in order to share learning and best practice and to contribute to driving a “best in class team” performance.
Required Skills and Experience:
Fluency in Dutch and German both written and spoken
Strong experience in Accounting and Reporting in a multinational company, with minimum 3-5 years responsibility for Netherlands & DACH Statutory Reporting.
University professional qualification in economics and accounting.
Knowledge of US GAAP/local GAAPs reporting gained in a multinational company.
Very good understanding of tax accounting and reporting.
Exposure to major ERP system, preferably SAP R3.
Willingness and confidence to lead discussions with senior business leaders.
