Firmware Engineer

The Apple EMEA Test Engineering team is looking for an exceptional engineer to design and integrate solutions for Apple Manufacturing. This position requires a self-driven engineer with great initiative with 3+ years experience. You will be working within a fast paced/changing environment. Ideally, you have a strong firmware development experience. However, if you are an Electrical Engineer with some fixturing experience, then you are encouraged to apply. Travel to our international partners will be required, mainly across the EMEIA region. (Covid restrictions pending)
Key Qualifications
Key Qualifications - 3 years experience in an Engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience developing & optimising BIOS/Firmware/Drivers
- Working with & debugging Electromechanical Fixtures
- Working with Instrumentation (Oscilloscopes, Logic Analysers etc…)
- Software development, in particular C, C++, C# or equivalent
- Hardware fault analysis
- Independent Problem solving
- Strong documentation & communication skills
- Must work well in a multi-functional team environment
- Experience working with remote teams
- Engineering Project management experience
- Familiarity with Apple hardware and software beneficial
- Statistical/Analytical skills beneficial

Description Development & maintenance of low/medium level software to interact with, and test hardware Test process design, development, & implementation Install of test stations for factory environment Creation, testing & maintenance of factory test software for Apple products Continuous process improvement and optimisation, driving key performance metrics (Yield, UPH, Order Cycle Time, Cost, Scrap, DPPM, CPK etc.) Provide direction and support to Regional technical support teams Data analysis/Documentation creation and release Participate in new projects for global implementation
Education & Experience
Education & Experience B.Eng (Hons), M.Eng in Electronic / Electrical Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent industry experience you are encouraged to apply
