Asset Management Division, Emerging Market Fixed Income, Portfolio Manager, Senior Associate/Vice President, Hong Kong / China / Singapore
Asset Management Emerging Market team is a global leader in managing EM Fixed Income assets within AMD and part of a global fixed income management franchise with over $1 trillion in assets under supervision. AMD’s Emerging Market Fixed Income team managed over US$ 40bn of dedicated EM assets. We have a variety of mandates including institutional portfolios, high net worth accounts and mutual funds. We use fundamental and quantitative analyses to generate micro and macro insights, and combine these with thoughtful portfolio construction and rigorous risk management in order to achieve client outcomes.
The team is seeking a portfolio manager who has direct experience investing in the Chinese onshore fixed income markets and will continue to focus on China onshore focused fixed income portfolios. The candidate will be a part of the AMD Emerging Markets team and will be responsible for constructing and managing onshore focused fixed income portfolio, in collaboration with the existing Emerging Market fixed income. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to help build and drive the build-out of AMD onshore fixed income business.
With strong global connectivity, we are flexible to have the successful incumbent be based in (with no order of preference) Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing or Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio management and risk management of Chinese onshore fixed income mandates
- Development of business geared towards onshore fixed income
- Detailed macro and micro oversight of portfolios managed
- Risk oversight responsibilities for assigned portfolios
- Working knowledge of all key risks and themes being expressed across global fixed income markets
- Knowledge of performance attribution drivers
- Portfolio review presentations to clients and consultants
- Product development/evolution
Key Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in onshore fixed income market in research and/or portfolio management
- Demonstrated ability to generate alpha in managing portfolios
- Proven analytical and time management skills
- Ability to analyze corporate credit risk, fx risk and rate risk
- Excellent communication, commercial and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, well organized, and strong attention to detail
- Collaborative culture / “team-work” oriented
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Skilled at developing and maintaining relationships
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Fluency in Mandarin/Cantonese & English
