Essential and optional requirements

- Minimum 12 months experience in a similar role, preferably including 5 star Hotel experience.
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality Management, preferred
- Demonstrated experience in all areas of Food and Beverage service, a la carte fine dining and/or bars.
- Barista skills, preferred.
- Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation/ interpersonal skills.
- Desire and ability to train and develop staff.
- Understanding of luxury/lifestyle guest expectations and a desire to exceed these expectations.
- Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily.

Key tasks

We are looking for a friendly and efficient food and beverage team member that's ready to offer service that meets the guests’ expectations. This role is ‘hands on’, working as part of a team to provide efficient 5 star service.
Some of the key duties of this role will be to:
- Perform the tasks of order taking and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling.
- Ensure accuracy by repeating order(s) to the guests.
- Ensure that dockets are written clearly and correctly so the cashier and kitchen can fulfill their duties effectively.
- Input of orders in Micros.
- Deliver orders promptly to the kitchen production area.
- Check ordered meals on collection from kitchen and deliver to guests promptly to maintain temperature and appearance, ensure items are announced.
- Keep tables and service areas clean and tidy as per procedure manual.
- Maintain hygienic food service techniques during service.
- Take responsibility for your designated section and station.
- Promptly answer the telephone and maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of product and suggestive selling as per SOP/standards.
- Perform all tasks to SO Brand standards.
- Any other reasonable request within your range of competence as required by your Supervisor or Hotel Management.
