Currently, we are seeking an astute FP&A Analyst with a keen attention to detail. In this role you will be comfortable working at pace across different business structures, managing multiple priorities and dealing with stakeholders across the business.

Whether you are consolidating global budget and forecast submissions from across the business, working with business stakeholders to prepare an accurate and timely monthly board report, or preparing decks to be presented to the MD and CFO you will build relationships with the reporting and group finance teams to help streamline processes and move the company forward.

How you will contribute:

  • Consolidate the annual global budget and quarterly forecast submissions from across the business. Prepare presentations for the MD and CFO
  • Prepare the monthly board report for The Economist, ensuring the data is accurate and communicated in a timely manner. You’ll work with the business to provide commentary on key performance against budget, prior year and forecast
  • Partner with the reporting team to streamline, standardise and automate data, reporting and analysis for The Economist, under the direction of the Head of Finance
  • Review and submit the global budget and quarterly forecasts in Anaplan, becoming the expert on the system & process, and constantly striving for improvements & efficiencies
  • Continually improve processes to ensure data is robust and time is freed up for more value add tasks
  • Own and manage the month- and quarter-end timetable, ensuring the team are all aware of deadlines to help with a smooth submission.
  • Work closely with the group accounting teams to ensure reporting submissions are timely and accurate
  • Manage and deliver ad-hoc analysis, insight and financial modelling to support business decisions and provide insight for stakeholders, as requested

The ideal skills for this role are:

  • A university qualification and an accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
  • Highly analytical, with close attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills - able to coordinate multiple inputs to deliver against tight deadlines
  • Proven experience in improving processes
  • Ability to present information with clarity for a non-financial audience
  • Engagement and commitment, showing ownership of responsibilities
  • Experience working in a global business with multiple products, currencies and geographic locations
  • Experience of Anaplan would be beneficial but not essential
  • Flexibility, able to adapt to changing priorities and structures
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence colleagues to improve decision making
  • Self-motivated to look for new ideas to streamline and simplify process
  • A track record as a good team player, committed to the success of the team as a whole
  • A self-starter, proactive, can-do approach
