Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced and passionate senior Front End Web Developer to join our West End team of ~40 locally and ~400 globally.

You’ll contribute to medium and enterprise scale websites and services for our customers using our CMS, Squiz Matrix and your ingenuity. We work with some pretty high profile Uni’s, Government and banks.

As a part of our Production team, you’ll deliver projects for and with our customers using:

  • JS, HTML5, CSS and SASS
  • JS frameworks and libraries such as React, Vue and Angular - it evolves
  • Task runners and package managers such as Grunt, Gulp, NPM and Webpack
  • Squiz Matrix (our enterprise grade CMS) - we’ll skill you up here
  • Collaboration tools such as git, Jira, Sketch and Invision
  • Communication tools such as Slack and StackOverflow

Our product team, Squiz Labs, work side by side with us in our West End offices. Feedback, contribution and collaboration between product and delivery teams is encouraged.

Our typical Squiz Matrix (CMS) enterprise-grade stack consists of linux, postgres, Matrix (PHP) and HTML/CSS/JS (inc. frameworks like React, Vue and Angular) running in own own Cloud. You'll work in the front end and Matrix layers.

What you’ll do

  • contribute to projects in teams of UX, design, dev, sys admin and PM
  • take ownership of your deliverables within team sprints
  • use and share your performance and security experience
  • architect, scope and specify projects with a PM, for the team
  • create how-to and support documentation for both internal and customer use
  • advise and assist local and global customer support teams when needed
  • fight for better. Noone’s perfect - see an opportunity to improve something, and make it happen


What you'll need:

  • 4+ years experience in most or all of the above
  • 4+ years commercial experience JS, HTML5, CSS, SASS, JS
  • working knowledge of WCAG (AA as standard) and one or more of: PCI DSS, OWASP, Lighthouse, ISO27001 and other industry standards
  • qualifications, training, conferences = bonus
