Northwest Partners is engaged in a strategic initiative with a well-established insurance organization and seeks an experienced Full Stack Developer to support enterprise claims technology initiatives. This role will focus on building scalable applications, modernizing cloud-native systems, and enhancing integrations across enterprise insurance platforms while contributing to architecture and engineering best practices.
What YOU will do
Design and develop scalable full stack applications and enterprise services
Contribute to architecture decisions and technical solution design across distributed systems
Develop and support integrations using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and cloud-native services
Collaborate with engineering and product stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives
Build and maintain microservices and middleware components within enterprise insurance systems
Create proof of concepts and evaluate emerging technologies and development approaches
Enforce secure coding standards, testing practices, and software engineering best practices
Support CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and orchestration initiatives
Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues using logging and monitoring tools
What YOU will bring us
Bachelor s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
8+ years of experience as a full stack Java developer
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and enterprise application architecture
Experience designing scalable and maintainable distributed systems
Expertise with Java and modern development frameworks
Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture
Strong understanding of cloud-native development and AWS services
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
Proficiency with SQL, secure coding practices, and version control systems such as Git
Experience with unit testing and integration testing methodologies
Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue
Experience with monitoring and logging tools
Knowledge of Guidewire ClaimCenter or enterprise claims platforms is highly preferred
Experience within property and casualty insurance environments is preferred
Exposure to AI prompt engineering or agentic engineering concepts is a plus
